Adult ADHD and Autism Assessments
Connect past to present challenges, with an assessment that helps explain what hasn’t always made sense before.
What is a neuro-affirming assessment?
A neuro-affirming assessment is less like a formal "test" and more like a collaborative deep dive into how your unique mind works.
For many adults, especially those who have spent years "masking" or trying to fit into neurotypical expectations, the traditional diagnostic process can feel cold or judgmental. A neuro-affirming approach flips that dynamic. Instead of looking for "deficits" or what is "wrong" with you, we look for your internal logic—the way you process information, experience sensory input, and navigate the world.
It’s about replacing years of "Why can’t I just...?" with "Oh, this is why I need..." It is a process rooted in clarity, validation, and the belief that your neurotype is a part of your identity to be understood, not a problem to be solved.

Adult-Centered Approach: Unlike tools designed for children and adapted for adults, the Cherry AADI was created specifically for adult presentations, accounting for developmental masking, compensatory strategies, and life experience factors.
Culturally Responsive: Incorporates systematic consideration of cultural, gender, and identity factors that influence neurodivergent presentation and recognition.
Strengths-Based: Emphasizes individual neurological profiles and environmental fit rather than deficit-focused assessment.
Comprehensive Scope: Addresses not only core diagnostic criteria but also masking behaviors, sensory processing differences, and pathological demand avoidance patterns.

Formal diagnosis and recommendations provided
A comprehensive diagnostic report based on the data acquired during the assessment process is completed and a copy provided to you
At the follow-up session, we will discuss assessment findings and provide a copy of the summary for you to review and approve.
Receiving a neurodivergent diagnosis as an adult can be the first step on a journey towards self-acceptance, understanding, compassion, and validation, as well as creating the foundation for increased support, accommodation, and comfort.
